LibraryThing is really easy to use! The only thing that bothers me is having my reading preferences out there for the whole world to see. Do you see a pattern of not liking to expose myself to the whole world? I can see this being useful for new book lists, lists of books being discarded and recommended reading lists. It also looks like a quick way to see what other people that have the same book are reading. I'm always looking for a new book to read =)

Yes, I've wondered if (really bored or really deranged) people could piece our whole lives together from all these things. I've tried to set up a more anonymouse login that I use in a lot of these sites, but I'm not sure how effective that is.
I have a personal lifetime account and have added my 3300 books. I want to have a centralized list so that I don't keep repurchasing the same books (which I have done more than once).
I have also set up an account for my HS Media Center. I'm hoping to have kids fill in information about books they are recommending. We also set up an account for the end-of-the-year give-away books for our reading club so that kids could see what was going to be available if they meet the club reading goals.
